The Depot is the Society's base for its operations and sidings provide for storage and maintenance of its fleet of rail motors and other rolling stock. A steel 3-road Rail Motor Shed, 75 metres long and 14 metres wide, was constructed in 1992-93 with the aid of a NSW Heritage Grant and the support of the following local businesses in providing discounted materials and services for the project is gratefully acknowledged:

  • Belmont Fasteners
  • Boral Country Concrete
  • Hunter Electricity
  • Hunter Valley Training Company
  • Insulation Industries Pty Ltd
  • Jobert Concrete Contractors
  • Metroll
  • M O'Sullivan and Associates
  • Smorgon ARC
  • Structural Cranes
  • Tubemakers of Australia
  • T&H Metals

The shed is used for vehicle storage and has an in-ground maintenance pit located on No.1 Road at the Dungog end and a fuel storage area. The shed also houses all of the equipment necessary to maintain our rolling stock.
